Sold

A fine and very rare violin by J.B. Schweitzer, Budapest 1842. Very few genuine instruments of his are known to exist, and this is amongst his finest examples. Restoration was completed in March, 2021 by Mike Kenney of Heritage Violin Restoration. The work included removing the top, sound post patch to the top, reshaping of a previously made patch for a back crack, new bass bar, crack cleaning and re-cleating, some edge doubling, a new fingerboard, saddle, varnish retouch, and a fresh setup.

This violin was sold by BVC through Tarisio NY in July, 2021 and has been entered into their archives for J.B. Schweitzer, which can be found here.
